Employees at M. Luis Construction, along with their family and friends, participated in Children’s National Medical Center’s Race for Every Child on October 31, 2015.
It was a cool, crisp, and sunny Halloween morning where Freedom Plaza/Pennsylvania Avenue was filled with superheroes, princesses, classic movie characters, costumed pets and others who ran and walked bringing in funds and awareness of the hospital’s mission. After being rescheduled from Oct. 3 because of weather conditions, the 5K run/walk and 100-yard Kids’ Dash turned into a costume parade, as families dressed for the special day.
Through sponsorships, registration fees, and individual fundraising, the event has raised $1,282,659 so far, more than any previous year.
M. Luis Construction, who raised money in the Mt. Kilimanjaro Climb in the previous year, continued its long-standing support of Children’s National Medical Center as one of the sponsors of the event. It was well enjoyed by all participants who are excited to support next year’s event.
M. Luis employees would also like to extend their deepest thanks to all those friends and family members who donated toward the $1.2M+ that was raised toward the future of children’s healthcare in our region.
